SBS is looking for interns!

Students will be exposed to all aspects of the radio station with a major focus in interactive internet marketing. A major or minor in Communications, Web Development, Graphic Communications, Broadcasting and Journalism is not required but preferred.

Applicants must have a friendly, outgoing, responsible, punctual and hard-working personality. You MUST be currently enrolled in an accredited college.

The internship is unpaid and we do require that you receive college credit for the internships.

JOURNALISM
The responsibilities will include researching industry relevant content by variety of sources of information, including industry news publications, online and hard copy magazines and other popular sites of information, writing own content and as well revising existing content.

Responsibilities:
1. Create creative editorial for online content.
2. Follow-up and retrieval of all local editorial.
3. Copy editing of all editorial online and offline.
4. Coordination with Online Market Manager with content.
5. Coordination of all local pictures and create content for photographs.
6. Coordinating with online department on production of local editorial style sheets.
7. Field media pitches, review and respond to email/voice mail messages, etc.
8. Communicate regularly with manager and team for media pitches, story ideas and leads.
9. Perform necessary networking functions: attending events, meetings with PR contacts, etc.


WEB DESIGNER / GRAPHIC DESIGN
The responsibilities will include having a creative eye and be able to create from concept to completion.
Must be able to hand code and design pages.
Design multiple style website as well as maintain creative continuity across sites.

Responsibilities:
1. Manage day to day content of site, including daily updates, removal of outdated content and articles as well as posting new content.
2. Create new interactive concepts that are unique to the public to increase site traffic.
3. Work in concerts with the Editorial and Marketing departments to develop content.
4. Develop client specialty pages and micro-sites, banners and other custom marketing initiatives to assist sales staff in selling interactive advertising.


PROGRAMMER
The responsibilities will include developing web applications.
Design, architect, and implement new front- and back-ends. Collaborate on new interfaces, information design and systems integration.

Responsibilities:
1. Design, architect, and implement new back- and front-end applications for our websites.
2. Maintain and support existing back- and front-end projects.
3. Coordinate with Online Market Mangaer to organize and implement effective interfaces and information design.
4. Keep up-to-date on current web technology and trends as resources for future systems design and implementation.
5. Integrate systems with internal company databases and applications.
6. Provide guidance and assistance to other company departments in their web development needs.
7. Provide phone and e-mail support for internal staff.
